SUMMER 2022
Summer management of our bee yard includes routine inspections and shuffling of resources between colonies as needed. The main honey flow is over and it is now the hottest part of the year. We will treat for mites with Apiguard, a natural thyme based miticide, in August.

We spray our fruit trees with all natural products as needed in the growing season. Summer is also a time for light corrective pruning and training to develop trees with strong structure.

Our sheep need access to fresh grass, water, and shade in the summer. We always ensure they have some woods in each paddock to get away from the sun. The lambs born in May are growing quickly and will be for sale in the coming months.
